The Metal Drive 2007 is Here!

Public Scrap Collection Days

When:9am - 3pm, Saturday, May 12 and Sunday May 27
Where: Twisp Airport Rd, next to the airport (NOT the Recycling Center!).
What you can bring: If it's metal, we want it!
  • Steel & iron: Appliances, old farm & lawn equipment, scrap steel, stainless or cast iron sinks or tubs, water heaters, pressure tanks, bike frames, barbed wire (rolled up), rusty metal whatsit
  • Non-ferrous metals: (please load these together if you can)
    • copper wire and pipe
    • aluminum siding, wire, pipe and gutters
    • aluminum irrigation pipe, roofing, satellite dishes
    • aluminum doors, windows (NO GLASS PLEASE!!)
  • All parts containing rubber, plastic, tubing, hoses, wood, concrete or glass must be removed!.
  • All motorized items MUST have all fluids removed.
  • There will be a $15 purging fee for any appliances that contain or once contained coolants.
  • List is not all-inclusive; we reserve the right to reject any items.
What you cannot bring:
  • Electronics, tires or tubes, closed containers (especially fuel), pesticide containers, water softeners, newer box springs (with wood, fabric, etc), weed eaters, plastics.
  • If you want to recycle computer gear, please take it to Total Reclaim in Seattle. The collection location is 9411 8th Ave. S. in Seattle. 206-763-9939

Information on Donated Vehicles

  • Current number of vehicles committed to this year's drive: 182
  • All vehicles must be registered in advance with Betsy Cushman
    (996-2696 or ).
  • IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE TITLE, YOU MUST CONTACT BETSY. To save time, please go to the Department of Licensing office in Twisp and pick up a hulk or abandoned vehicle form.
  • Even with a title you still need an appointment for delivery.
  • Vehicle recycling BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT ONLY - No cars will be accepted on the public scrap collection days!
  • Owners are responsible for draining all fluids prior to delivery.
