Summer Programs

We offer a variety of engaging summer programs that teach skills in creative reuse, tool usage, and repair.

Repair Corps

Repair Corps is a service-learning opportunity for teens focusing on developing repair and reuse skills. In this “earn to learn” program, Repair Corps members will work on community-oriented repair and reuse projects for three weeks. Through these projects, teens will learn how to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostics. Repair Corps is an exciting opportunity to develop job skills, leadership, team work, and hands-on vocational skills while contributing to community projects and reducing waste!

Details:

The Repair Corps Crew will be led by a Sustainability Pathways Fellow from Western Washington University, the Methow Recycles Program Manager, and a variety of community Repair Mentors who are expert fixers, tinkerers, and reusers. Repair Corps will meet at Methow Recycles in Twisp, but will participate in project work at a variety of locations around the valley. Repair Corps Crew Members will need to be responsible for their own transportation to Methow Recycles. Transportation to project sites will be arranged by the Crew Leaders. Repair Corps Members do not need to have their own vehicle for transportation, but they may drive their own vehicle if they wish.
